Question:

What would your ideal hotdog restaurant feature?

If you went to a bar that specialized in hotdogs/fries and chili, what sort of things would keep you coming back. Good service and great food is a given. I'm looking for specific things that make people happy. Have a favorite brand of hotdog? Mustard? Beer? Etc.

  1. A natural-casing hot dog, homemade fries, and Yuengling draft beer.  All available at the Oakland Original in Pittsburgh,  (huge order of fries)


  2. KOEGEL HOT DOG WITH CHILI SAUCE, PICKLE, AND MUSTARD.  UNFORTUNATELY KOEGELS ARE A MICHIGAN BRAND HOT DOG.

  3. Fresh products for everything. That means 100% meat with no animal by-products, and also make sure that all the buns are fresh and that there is no mold on any of them. That would include scrupulously following the 'best before' dates, and throwing out anything that is old or with a bit of mold on it.

    The workers should also be properly trained on how to handle food, and make sure that they wash their hands after using washrooms (even if they did wash their hands in the washroom, that is not okay). Each individual should know better than to touch their hair and then touch food again.

    Sure, this all might be a bit expensive to produce, but nothing beats freshness and sanitation.

  4. The kind of hot dogs i like are braghtwarst, they would keep me coming over and over again, allot of people like ball park hot dogs to. hope this helps.

  5. Hebrew National Hot Dogs are the very best! Fresh cut - homemade garlic fries would be perfect. I simply love coney dogs, so of course I'd keep coming back for them -- topped with sweet Vidalia or Maui Onions.

    Also, Jackson, Michigan has a hot dog place called the International Dog House, I don't know where they get them or what they are called but they have the very best hot dog buns of any place I have ever dined. (They are almost orange in color.)

  6. i want a chicago hot dog option, with celery salt, and those little black seeds on the bun.  i want chopped onions as an option, good chili, and good cheese.  a kick *** vegan dog wouldnt be bad either.

  7. hot dog with pastrami piled on top.  the fatty kind at the deli not the cold cut kind.
