my plan is to get a multi-fuel generator for backup and a reliable little electric car that is affordable. i would set up an alcohol distillation unit to run the home generator. time for more effort in a victory garden and stock up a few bows and lots of arrows. back to the future. all thanks to fools in the u.s. congress. i would hire any of them to do anything. they would puck it up.

  1. I 'd go to my husband's family in Colorado and learn to be serf-sufficient..plant a big garden, chop wood for fuel, hunt for food. Plant fruit orchards.  Get a couple of bicycles. I'm a survivor.

  2. Some people in Congress are actually trying to push forward an agenda that will help us with off shore drilling so on and so fourth. But this problem was there when most of congress was just teenagers.

And reliable little electric car? You do realize that is requires gas to run still right... To charge the batteries which don't last long at all. And if there was no gasoline the price of all other fuels would skyrocket to the point no one could afford them, so your multiple generater would be a great paperweight. Alcohol is produced in mass thanks to farm equipment, which runs on gas, so the supply would go down greatly, making it unusable as a cheap source of fuel, or drink for that matter. Good luck with any consumer product to be delivered, such as plastic since...you guessed it, it is made out of petroleum. And your garden would be raided by other "survivors who don't have the ability to grow crops of their own."

  3. retire a few years early

  4. all i can say is welcome back to the lifestyle sof little house on the prairie. i would geet me a bicycle we already liuve in the country so there really is no transition just make sure i have a little money and plenty of ammo and i wioll be good to go.

  5. here is the big kicker - how in the h**l are you gonna afford all that?

  6. i dk...bike?

  7. I'd go to Venezuela where it's just pennies per gallon.  Stupid economics.
