cars werent invented - You'd have millions of horses in every city. The streets would be covered in manure, everything would smell like p**p. Half our society would be horses. You'd obviously not have planes either so we would be struggling with sailling ships still.

ipods werent invented - I'll assume you mean recorded music period as recording devices have existed for a long time and the ipod is only the latest version. We'd still have live bands but once the artist stopped playing you'd be dependant on good cover bands or you'd never hear that music again.

the use of oil wasnt discovered - thats a tough one. Early humans used animal oils to crudely fuel lamps. If you just mean that the internal combustion engine was never powered with fuel made of oil then simple. We would likely be killed regularly by explosions of Kerosene. It's more volitile and was used before gasoline from oil was discovered. Not as clean a fuel either so it would be a smelling world.

nasa never landed on the moon - no change really. We'd still dream and still be trying to get there

Al Gore became president - 911 would have been a police investigation same as the previous trade center bombing. He would not have invaded Afganistan and we'd have regular attacks on US soil by now. And he'd be demanding that we all stop riding horses which f**t out so much methane (a far worse greenhouse gas that CO2).
