  1. cry

  2. i think u should tell her that u r just as fit as her for the reason u think u r :)

  3. If it were me, I wouldn't give a **** what Maria or John thought or had to say (if they were only colleagues and not your boss).  In the end, the only thing that matters is if your boss/manager is happy with your work.  And believe me - bosses/managers aren't that stupid to see someone's qualifications OR character (like Maria's if she's catty).  If your boss / manager is, then that's not really your problem.  There are plenty of places to work.

I would make sure I knew what was expected of me from my BOSS; speak to them and pay attention to things they may say you do well or need improvement (if you had a review).  At the end of the day, your boss is really the only person that matters if you're qualified or not.  That's why they are in the position they're in.

If you are really that concerned, talk to your boss professionally.  About work and improving; wanting to grow with the company, etc.  And see what they say to you to help you do that.  That kind of commitment and "leadership" in doing so is what we bosses look for...especially if it's between 2 people.  Who goes "above and beyond" for the best interest of the company and job.

    Good luck. ;)

  4. quadruple your competence

  5. What exactly is the problem? And what does John have to do with it? In any case, I would first draft a letter to your superior on your email advising that Maria is creating a hostile work environment by her constant unsolicited negative remarks and that you have addressed it with her verbally on this date and hope she will demonstrate professionalism and cease her harrassment, but in the event her behavior continues to be a problem, you will notify immediately. Confront Maria, then send the email, copying yourself on a personal email, as well as an outside party. This provides documentation and a timeline in the incidents. If the behavior continues and management fails to follow up, you can continue up the chain of command until it is resolved. If they fire you, you also have documentation. That being said, if you ARE inefficient you may actually stand to lose your job, in which case say good riddance and move along to bigger and better things.
