i have recently seen a classic car for sale and the regestration began with the nymber 7. what year was this car manufactured

Since 1980, the tenth (10th) digit of the vehicle identification number (VIN) indicates the year model of the vehicle dependent upon a code system.  This system does not apply to vehicle manufactured prior to 1980, however.  If you can provide the identifier number or letter, and the vehicle was manufactured after 1980, I can advise you as to the age of that vehicle
