What year did Mother's Pizza Pasta Restaurant close down?

It was a popular pizza place in the 1980s and had locations in Canada. It closed down in the 1980s. Does anyone remember the particular year? Or why?

I seem to remember it closing down quite suddenly!

I used to love that place.

They are still in the states.

They were owned by Ponderosa if you remember them.

I don't feel so old now!  I'm glad someone else remembers Mother's Pizza.  I have the same recollection as you though - just closed up suddenly in the 1980's.

It must've been sometime in the mid 80s.  I had some great birthday parties there.  

I thought their pizza was really good.  Of course, when you're a kid, anyone's pizza is good.  But I remember that they'd play Charlie Chaplin silent films in the dining room.  Does anyone else remember that?
