  1. The Act Of Union 1801 was passed to unify Ireland and England so the Irish Parliament would be abolished and they would be ruled directly from Britain. This created, The United Kingdom Of Great Britain And Ireland.


  2. Ummm...more specifics?  They are two separate countries even today.  Northern Ireland is part of Great Britain, but not Ireland.
