  1. If you are not yet tired of living, pay for a set of plans! There are several kit aircraft that are FAA approved. Why re-invent the wheel?

  2. It is now called the "EAA Biplane," and the plans are available from the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA).  You can learn all about the EAA and join the organization at their web site, http://www.eaa.org.

It is almost impossible to build a home-built airplane without the help of the EAA, but it's a breeze with their help.

One of my neighbors is building an EAA Biplane in his workshop, and it's a very do-able project.  Have fun!
