Or, hey, better yet, What year does To Kill A Mocking bird take place?Any tip's on how to live through it? I think a wall would be more interesting to look at for three hours that read this book! I'm DIEING here! And I have to take notes about it too. Which is one of the reasons I'm asking this question (above.)

  1. To Kill A Mockingbird takes place throughout 3 years during the Great Depression. The first Dracula picture show came out in 1931.

Just a note - please give the book a chance! Sometimes it takes a little bit to get into the story so try to keep your mind open about it. I realize it may not be everyone's cup of tea but it's a great classic novel with a great story and themes.

    Good luck!

  2. The Bela Lugosi version of the film came out in 1931, I think that is the one you are referring to.  "Nosferatu" came out earlier - in 1922, but if I remember correctly, that is not the one referenced in Harper Lee's novel.

The book is really quite good, give it a shot.  I also like the film version - Gregory Peck does a great Atticus.  And Boo Radley comes to life in the film.  I really did like both of them, but if it's not your thing hte internet will be a big help to you.

    good luck!

  3. TKAM is actually a great book. Just try sparknotes, it gets you all the answers, fast. it takes place in 1933-1935
