What year do you think tiger will surpass Jacks record?

Already on 12 titles he needs only seven more to overcome Jack Nicklaus' record of 18 professional majors .

My opinion would be that Tiger will break the record before he's done....barring injury....however I would hesitate to put a timeline on it.

I've answered questions about this before, and golf is not something you can measure like Barry Bonds breaking the homerun record.....it depends on a lot of factors.....some of which are measurable and some which are not....

So my answer is.....I think he will break it. I would not put a guess on 'when'.

I have Tiger breaking the record in 2012.  From 08-12(5 years) he will have 3 years where he wins 1(Philstill has a few left in him) and 2 years where he gets 2 majors.  So that is the 7 majors he needs.  I have Tiger retiring with 22 majors.

If you read Golf Magazine, they would say 2010. Which would be ideal as this is the year with all the really spectacular courses being played; Augusta, Pebble Beach, St. Andrews, and Whistling Straits (the new pride of America) and we know Tiger's penchant for being historical. However, I think this may be too soon. In my dreamland, the USGA would realize that 2013 at the US Open would be perfect, if they put the event at the Country Club in Brookline. Tiger breaks Jack's record on the same course, 100 years after the David beat two Goliaths (Ouimet beating Vardon and Ray.) Realistically, he ties the record with a Masters in 2011 and breaks it at Congressional at the US Open or he ties it with a Masters in 2012 and breaks it with Kiawah Island at the PGA later that year.

I am willing to bet that by the year 2013, Tiger will have Jacks record.  I have him with 24 Majors at the end of his career.
