Also, what is a graphic arts class? what is taught and will it count in my A-G requirements. Will photography count in A-Gs? which is easier...im a freshman.

  1. At the earliest, start a sport in the winter of your freshman year. Especially if you are new to the sport. You don't have to continue it to your senior year, but it would show colleges that you make commitments and persevere.

Track and field and cross country are very different. Cross country is a fall sport, and track is a spring sport. In cross country everybody runs the same course (about 3 miles). The course is outside in a variety of terrains and slopes.

In track and field, there are distance events and sprinting events. Some include 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1600m, 3200m, and relays. There are also field events such as high jump, pole vault, long jump, triple jump, discus, shot put, and javelin. All of the events are in the general vicinity of a track.

  2. You should start as a freshman. That way when you are a soph you wont be a newbie and you will most likely be used to the team.
