Check the second line of the ID plate, that should give you the year as pictured in the attached link.

If your ID plate doesn't look like the one in the picture, try calling your nearest Mariner Outboard Sales or repair shops they will be able to tell you the year of your engine.

The chart on Brunswick's web site are very confusing  Some don't have the "0" in front and then they have the startig SR. no. So, as best I can tell it's 1984 or 1985.
