What year is my gun?

It is my uncles gun

It is a Wichester Model 67-22 short long and long rifle

the forestock has finger grips on each side

it is a single shot

What ammunition could i use in it also? would i be able to use magnum?

  1. I would use standard velocity .22 Long Rifle, Long or short.  It should also handle sub-sonic .22 LR ammo.  No, it can't fire .22 Magnum ammo.  It shouldn't even be able to chamber it and if it does it develops way too much pressure to fire it safely.

    On the year of manufacture you need to enter the entire serial number on a web-site for that answer.  I don't have the web-site presently but if you post it someone can do it for you.  No fear, no one will steal your gun or your identity because you posted a serial number.  THAT is an urban legend.

  2. You can use 22 short long or long rifle, just like it says on the barrel

    You couldn't even get 22mag to chamber

    There is noway to give an exact date because they were not serial numbered but the manufacture dates were from 1934 to 1963

  3. I have a model 67 Winchester single shot 22 that my dad gave me for Christmas in 1958, when I was 13, so it might be about that old.

  4. Your rifle was made between 1934 and 1963, and no, you can't fire .22 magnums in it.
