What year of a bike does this look like? bc i heard new ones have rounded fenders?

That's a 2002 or 2003 Yamaha YZF-R1.  You can tell by the way the fairing is angled just rear of the rider's seat.  Pre-2002 it was round, not jagged like the one in the picture.  For the 2004 and later models, the front end was re-styled.
