  3. I found the best time was right after algebra II and precalculus. That was my junior spring. I think that really helped me on the math. Most of my friends who took it in their senior year wished they had earlier because the math was so rusty by then.  

  4. A good time to take the SAT for the first time would probably be the spring of your junior year. Then, if you wish to take the test a second time, the October test during your senior year would give you enough time to get your scores before you apply for college. College application deadlines usually range from November to February, so you don't want to wait too long if you are a high school senior.
