What year was my vintage singer sewing machine model 477 serial no EY 878043?

You can call 1-800-4-singer and they can tell you, or look it  up online:

Unfortunately, the online list doesn't give a date for EY, but EX were allocated in 1965, so I'd guess 65 or 66.

Well I did some searching and this is what I discovered.  EY designates where it was made. Which was clyde Bank Scotland. I got this from www.singerco.com  went to serial # and then double letter prefix.  The listed numbers ther only go to EW and 1961 I think it was.

I did a search for singer 477 and found on the following site

a schmetic which when I looked at it was copyrighted in 1968.   It is called the 477K series.
