  3. 117 A.D. - Height of power

    476 A.D. - Fall of western empire

1453 A.D. -Fall of eastern empire

And no, Sparta had long since ceased to be a power by 117 A.D.

  4. There is no specific date when the Roman Empire reached its height. but it was during the general period 150-250 CE. The date usually given for the fall of the Empire is 476 CE, when Romulus Augustulus, the last Emperor who was of Roman ethnicity, yielded the throne to the Goth Odoacer. The latter called himself Emperor of Rome, but he was not in any way a Roman. By then, the center of the Empire had shifted to Constantinople, which didn't fall till 1453, when the Ottomans took it.

By the time of the height of the Roman Empire, Sparta was nothing but a small Greek backwater. Like all of Greece, it was part of the Roman Empire.
