What year will we have a Triple Crown Winner?

Hopefully never. Horse racing is cruel and continually breaks down and ruins horses daily. As a horse owner and avid horse competitor I am apalled by this 'sport'. So I hope I won't be alive to see it.

2013.  I don't know why but for years I've thought it would be 35 years after the last one in 1978.

I  hope I am alive too. I am 62 and have watched 3 of them.We will not know until some thoroughbred comes along who has the ability stamina and heart to pull it off.Add the luck factor staying fit.It does have to be super horse just one who is better than the rest that year and can service the three races.It is a great challenge as you see. many really good horses have gave it a close call just to fall shot at a 1 1/2 Belmont distance.Have faith theres one on the way soon i think and i think his daddy's name  is ROCKHARDTEN.`

Hopefully 2009, that's what it's all about.  History in the making.  For the person who answered and thinks horse racing is cruel...YOU need to check out farm work horses..now that's cruel.  If you put a race horse next to a farm work horse you would eat your words. They are sick, stink, some blind with sores and swarming with flies.  Now, that's cruel.  Race horses are treated like gold.  People judge on what they see only.  Look into what you don't see once in a while. This is directed at the one(s) who think they know, not the one who asked the question.

I remember back in '70's when everyone was so anxious to see Secretariat win it since it had been decades.  So then Slew wins it a few years later and then Affirmed the next year.  Three triple crown winners in the 70's.  Outstanding.  You just never can tell.  Enjoy the races.  All three this year were very good. The horses in these races are absolutely the finest and it is just a pleasure to see them run.
