Someone born on July 19, 1978, will be 30 yrs old tomorrow. Someone born in 1977, already is 31 (they already had their birthday).  

So, someone ALREADY 30 was born in 1978, but their birthday is between January 1 and today.  Someone whose birthday is AFTER today, is not 30 yet, but will be, in a few months.

first thing is it depends when your birthday is....secondly cant you do math? it really isnt that difficult, 2008(the year we are in) - 30(your age) = 1978(the year you were born)

If you turned 30 between January 1 and today, July 18, 2008, you were born in 1978 (1978 + 30 = 2008)

If you are going to turn thirty later this year, you were born in 1978, but you will spend at least half of next year being thirty, so you can say ha-ha to those who say you were born in 1979.

If you are thirty now, but will be thirty one later this year, you were born in 1977.
