What you all think about SOLAR INDUSTRY? WHY THE COST IS STILL SO HIGH?

What you all think about SOLAR INDUSTRY? WHY THE COST IS STILL SO HIGH IN USA? because politic?

I plan to build a solar plant in Southeast Asia to manufacure Solar supplies, so we are in U.S.much better to have a low cost supplies since our energy demand is increased by time and so high here. Residents in US. to store a Solar System here cost ranges from 30k to 50k mimimum for a home from 1500 to 3000 square feets. I would like to bring this cost down at least 50% so every middle class or low class families can afford it.

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT MY IDEA? ANH ANYONE OF YOU ARE INTERESTING IN JOINING MY PROJECT?

  1. Solar stocks are doing well because of two things:

    1) the price of oil and energy in general is rising. (or has been)

    2) government subsidies that in various ways prop up the industry or create an artificially high demand for the products

I might trade something that is in this kind of space, but I never, ever invest in it. Government subsidies are exceptionally fickle. If some politicians get together and decide that subsidizing solar power is a bad idea (which it is, with current technology), then the stocks, trading at highly inflated prices will get crushed. (and the market for their products will disappear.)

If you can bring the cost down so that the system can pay for itself in actual energy savings before the system is obsolete or breaks, I'd go for it, but from what I've seen about the technology, it's pretty much impossible to do that.

  2. The cost of of materials to make solar cells and the manufacturing process are still too expensive compared to other forms of energy. Just about every one. This may not be the exact order, but it is close from cheapest to most expensive:

    Hydroelectric

    Nuclear

    Coal

    Natural Gas

    Oil

    Wind

    Solar

You'll need the price of those other sources to increase significantly before solar will become a viable option.
