  1. hey mate

i can assure you the Gold Coast is a beautiful place to live. I have lived here my life and i wouldnt want to go anywhere else. The beaches are tops, great all round atmosphere with plenty to do. alot of big and small shops, 5 major theme parks that are fun as h**l.. Surfers Paradise goes off at night, alot of respected well known clubs if your into that.. theres a major zoo here thats awesome.. we are all laid back mate we dont really care about dramas & rude people.. once you are mates with an aussie we have your back for life lol the housing here is pretty much renovated and new, but of course there is a small amount of lower income parts of suburbs like anywhere else..if your not into all the clubs & busyness of Surfers Paradise there is beautiful parks, drive in cinames.. just really suits the person who comes here.. just as long as you respect & say you like australia we are your best mates..  lol hope you come mate you wont regret it.. its paradise here with so much fun to do everyday! good luck with whatever choice you make champ

  2. I think it is awesome. Kangaroos are neat.

  3. Go for it, but keep your wits about you, the Gold Coast, right in middle can get very messy with people over indulging.  The beaches are great, the climate is great, people are as nice to you as you are to them, usually, just like regular people, you get your good and not so good.  You will certainly have lots to do on the Gold Coast.  I Say absolutely go for it.

  4. We're the same as white Americans really. The only difference is that we aren't as 'politically correct' if you know what I mean.

I don't think that speaking your mind is a bad thing, but since Americans seem to, you might want to be aware of the difference.

  5. If I were you I'd make the move.

It sounds like the opportunity of a life time.

You don't want to look back in 10 or 15 years time and say, "Gee, I wish I'd, at least, tried that."

If you don't like us you can always go back, but at least give it a go.

Generally, we're very friendly and welcoming people with a good sense of humour and we enjoy a laid back life style.

The Gold Coast is a very busy tourist spot and there's always something happening there.

So you won't get bored easily.

Our beaches are among the best in the world.

  6. Just remember to only say nice things about Australia and Australians. They're not so laid back if you disagree with them.

  7. Ummm well most of us have a very laid back attitude (unless you are in the bigger cities). We work hard at work but play hard after work, plenty of Aussies are family and AFL(Aussie league footy) orientated. The wildlife in the outback in dangerous, the beaches are beautiful, the natural parklands are gorgeous, we have different cars to most other countries, we use litres (not gallons or pints) and kilos (not pounds), the fuel is expensive right now and the country seems to be becoming more upscale (restaurants, pubs and clubs).

The summer is very warm (about mid 30s to mid 40s celsius depending where you live) and the winters are chilly but not freezing cold. Especially in the Gold Coast you can expect some nicde weather (even in Winter)

I think it is a great idea for you to move if you would like to. The Gold Coast is beautiful and exciting with plenty of opportunities for work and play.

  8. Australians are a multi cultural people. We have many nations now living here, and because of the laid back lifestyle etc., I reckon we all get on very well with one another. The Gold Coast is a popular holiday destination and would be a fabulous place to  live. The city of Brisbane is 'just down the road' as we would say. I reckon you would need to be pretty healthy, theres only one hospital (public anyway) Most people have to go to Brisbane for specialist appointments etc.,Good luck.
