Darlyne.....its a gurl name...and its pronounce like Darleen....is it a southern name?..ghetto name?..northern name?...weird name?...white name?..just tell me whatever u think of it..

The way its spelled it says Darlin i.e. slang for darling. Darlene Darleen are appropriate spellings. Darlyne just looks stupid and trashy.

I would recommend that you spell it Darlene. That is the original spelling of the name. It sounds the same, so why spell the name differently (like Darlyne) just for the fun of it? Your child will have to correct people about the spelling of her name her entire life! Darlene, that spelling, is just as nice. I think it's a wonderful name.

I'm from the north, but I live in the country, and I know two Darlenes. So I'd say it's a country name. But still very pretty =)

It's a very southern name. Also, with the Y, it looks horrible... I'll never really understand the "OMG!!! I spelled this name with a Y instead so now it's TOTALLY UNIQUE!!!!" trend that everybody seems to like. It just makes it look terrible, and the parents look less creative than just illiterate.

Darlene or Darleen is nice, but isn't a favorite of mine, to be honest. But they're both better than Darlyne.

To answer your question, I like it.  It's not ghetto, it's not that unique where I live because I know quite a few Darlenes (that's the way they spell their's).  It's nice!
