  1. Yawn

The apology does nothing but appease polictical correctness.

The things what has been done since than.

    Have thing improved.

I am waiting for the African American stand up and say thank you for all those who work the underground railroad.  The people who risk their lives to get them free.

The many war dead of the Civil War that gave their all to  free the slaves.

How about Japan to apologies for killing the civilians on the Battan Death March?

  2. Its when we apologise that gets up my nose, according to the PC brigade we (the English) don't exist so, how can we apologise? Come to that do the Australians exist? well if they don't how can they apologise?

  3. welcome but long overdue

  4. It was fair dinkums

  5. about time.

they have consistently refused for decades to at least say sorry.

    Sorry is a start.

  6. meaningless unless they change their behaviour towards the indiginous population. for example, as recently as the sydney olympics, there was political opposition to kathy whatsername holding the torch/flame thing. simply because she was aboriginal,,,, disgusting

  7. Probably deserved, but wait for the compensation claims to follow .............

  8. sorry is a meaningless word after the deed is done

  9. well it will go a way for making amends but such a lot of bad things that they did in the 50s what about all those kids that were in the care system in the uk that were shipped all that way are they going to make amends to them also

  10. They are only words, and words are cheap. If there is a sincerity in what he said then lets see some real action.

  11. About time. But too late for children ripped away from their families to never see them again.

  12. Too little too late.

  13. I think it is a Little to late to be making an apology but it will be accepted by the aboringe communities in Australia even if it is to late because the Australian government as done Little or nothing to better there plight for equality in a country in which there ancestores inhabited before the settlers arrived in Australia because they inflicted a lot of harm and abuse towards the local inhabitants of Australia

  14. At  least he has apologised, cant  remember any President apologising to the Indians on how they were treated.
