hey

my friend asked me to ask this

she had her baby almost 5 weeks ago and her bleeding after birth was like a light period pinkie/light red but for the past 2 weeks there has been ALTO of clear/watery discharge with some red blood mixed with it and its gooey/watery when she wipes and they are not much blood on her pad just when she wipes she gets that gooey clear/watery discharge with some blood. also it smells

but

last night when she went to the toilet there was this little red thick

gooey ball on her pad and also when she wiped it was thick red discharge.

she went to the toilet yesterday and thee was nothing on the pad but when she wiped there was alto of thick blood dark red like a rich red.

so phoned the midwife today and she thinks its an vaginal infection to go to the doctors tomorrow. and now its heavy rich red and has alot on her pad its like a heavy period

also my friend lost 3 Lite rs Of Blood and had to be given 4 pints back

so could this be something to do with it or what do you think?

i'm 26 weks and 3 days pregnant with twin boys :) kayden and josh

  2. If it continues contact the midwife again and tell her you are worried  that it is not normal. Insist on being seen sooner if you think that you need to see a doctor.

  3. Well she's going to the doctors so that's a good thing. Of course it could be something as simple as the fact that she may have been overdoing things, too much exercise or heavy work can cause a woman to bleed again after pregnancy, or it could just be her 1st period after having the baby, they're often very heavy and can last a long time because the body needs to get back to normal. The discharge smelling does make it sound like an infection but the thick gooey ball you mention makes me worry it could be some retained placenta, do you know if she passed the placenta intact when she'd given birth or was it ragged or in pieces? if it is retained placenta she will need to go into hospital for a d&c to have her womb cleared out in order to remove any remaining pieces.

  4. go to the doctor !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. She needs to get to a doctor ASAP, this does not sound normal!

  6. I have to agree you have asked this 4 or five times in a day, Your friend needs to see her doctor we don't know anything really about why its happening  she might have an infection or anything
