  1. If we're talking bible terms then it's an unknown answer. it's very vague and we're not supposed to know. sorry if you're atheist.

  2. mankind has debated this subject for thousands of years

even last month a religious cult hid in a cave waiting for the promised end....to no avail

    nobody will know...we can guess

some experts claim 2012 will end all of mankind

    cheer up matey

  3. That will happen in 5 to 7 billion years when the Sun has fused most of its hydrogen into helium and starts fusion of helium that produces much less energy. The Sun will expand into a red giant star and absorb the inner planets.

  4. The earth will end when the sun becomes a white dwarf and then explodes. As the sun grows in size to become a white dwarf it will engulf planets such as Mercury and Venus. It is unlikely the it will engulf earth but the sun will be so huge that it will fill the sky and Earth will be so close to the sun at this point, life on earth will be wiped out due to the temperature of the earths surface and the amount electromagnetic radiation that is given out by the sun.

The sun will continue to grow in size until it becomes a supernova, this is when the sun explodes, and become gases. At this point, the solar system will be no more. Thus Earth is dead.

I hope I have answered your question.

  5. The Sun will expand into it's red giant phase in something like five or six billion years.  It will get nearly large enough to engulf the Earth.  That's right, the Sun will be nearly 200,000,000 miles in diameter.  Even if the Sun doesn't eat the Earth, it's likely that the Earth will raise a tidal bulge on the Sun behind it in it's orbit.  This will cause the Earth to spiral into the Sun, which would be the end. In Robert Frost's poem, this is the world ending in Fire.

However, humans have the capability to prevent this from happening.  It turns out that using a large asteroid, orbital energy can be taken from Jupiter and transferred to Earth, so the Earth can be moved to a wider orbit.  We have plenty of time.

And, when the red giant phase is over, and the Sun becomes a white dwarf, the Earth can be moved in to be warmed by the much dimmer Sun.  After a really, really long time, the Sun cools, and the Earth can't be warmed by it.  In Robert Frost's poem, this is the world ending in Ice.

It's highly possible that it is easier to move the Earth this way, and save all life on Earth, than it is to set up shop on some other planet elsewhere in the galaxy. I mean, you'd have to get there with everything, terraform some planet, populate it, and so on. This idea might be a good solution to the Fermi paradox.

  6. when the sun becomes a red giant in about 3-4 billion years.

  7. definitely not Dec 12 2012.

I guess it will be a few centuries from now or even more if we start becoming more aware
