Try to help. If you know the swimming, just take a dip and give him you help.

throw him a life-jacket. If there's none, a rope will do, just be sure to tie the end of the rope to a sturdy tree. :)

Ok. First of all that person should not have jumped in the river especially if that river has a current or something of that sort. If you have a life jacket or a rope through it to the person to help them. If you have taken a lifeguard course you should know how to save him/her. If this did happen I hope that person if ok.
