What you you think of OPK?

OK. well I have been TTC for 7months now.. I thought last month I had it!! but I was wrong. Saturday I had what i thought was Implantation bleeding. 12DPO I spotted pink.. well I stared Sunday night and this morning I was done.. but it was heavy sunday night so im positive that Im not pregnant. Anywho. Im gonna go buy some OPK tests. If my cycles are 29 days and I started july 27th when should I start testing w/ OPKs? Aug 5th??? Thank you all for all your help! GL to every one TTC

  1. Most women ovulate around 14 days before the start of their period (that's the average -- it's usually 12-16 days), so if your cycle is usually 29 days you should start testing around Day 12 or 13.  

    Just a note on OPKs, though -- I have personally had VERY BAD LUCK with them and know many other women who have as well.  I have gotten so many false positives and strange results that I just gave up on them and used the temperature charting method instead.


  2. There will be a chart in the insert to tell you when to start testing based on your cycle.

  3. i would test from day 11 after last menstrual period. theoretically you will ovulate on day14 or 15 according to your 29 day cycle. however the surge in the OPK will be observed 24-36 hours before your ovulation. hope this helps!
