  1. Clark AB is now a commercial airport (Diosdado Macapagal International Airport) which was named after the president and father of the current President of the Philippines, Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

  2. Part of it, though (The Air Force City) is still being handled by the Philippine Air Force.

  3. It also has a lot of Duty Free stores with imported items from the US. These are the places where you can find stuff that you see in Walmart Stores and Duty Free outlets in Airports

  4. They turned the airfield into an airport. The Base is a tourist area with nice hotels, shopping etc...

Angeles city is still the biggest red light district in th Philippines from what I have been told. The part of Angeles City that I went to was not an area with clubs, so I do not have any first hand knowledge of the night life there.

  5. It became a civilian airstrip.

  6. The answers above are correct.  The base became this commerical zone, the military kept a slice, and it is sort of like a ghost of it's former self.  It brings in  a fraction of the revenue the american based did.  The artisians and craftsmen who once lined the base boarders are mostly gone and their trades are dying off.   There are still plent of stirp clubs and prostitutes who cater to Pinoys chinese and westerners.

  7. it is now an international airport.
