  1. Yeah, that and the fact that I (like many others I suppose) lost interest when I noticed they could remove and replace any champion they wished to, for whatever reason they wanted to.

How much more artificial can a sport industry be than that?

  2. I'm sorry to tell you but boxing has not vanished. All the televised fights are being sold out. Dont get me wrong I love MMA also but I love the sweet science more. But I do admit that UFC and alike make a lot better cards than boxing. In MMA if your boring you get put on the back burner, if your a boring boxer you get put in with a tomato can to make you look exciting. I will admit that. But also an MMA fighter can lose and not get thought of badly but if a boxer loses his career as an elite fighter is next to shot. But I also say this, within a couple of years, MMA will be just as if not more crooked than boxing. In just the past year I have seen this become a reality. So dont praise MMA just yet.

  3. In my opinion, it was the overpriced pay-per-view fights on Showtime & HBO when all we got for yrs. was nothing but stopped fights and decisions. Don King ruled with  an Iron fist over many fighters in the 80s and 90s and got too greedy with a lot of em too.I dont think the entire show that Tyson put on years back helped Boxings reputation either.

you can get much information in this website, If you will check anyone blue link in website.

  5. i will give you credit on asking a decent question and not trying to convert the boxing fans to homo fighting but dont think you been paying attention to the news... 2008 was a great year in boxing while UFC has been sliding since Liddle got KOed by Jackson ... And bars just recongize that the KIds like the UFC better and give THE Grapplers more air time to pick up sales in booze, and the body needs plenty of alcohol to watch grown men "wrestle"... but to each his own is what i always say....

  6. Definitely hasn't vanished, but the talent pool is being diverted elsewhere.

Back in day every inner city had a few boxing gyms. The kids would come off the street and stay out of trouble by training and becoming fighters. These days, there are less gyms and sports like Football and Basketball offer a much better pay day. They also offer scholarships to college. Therefore, there is much more incentive for a young, strong athlete to persue football or basketball, because the risk/reward is a no brainer. I think more colleges should offer boxing programs, and/or the promoters and sanctioning bodies that are making millions off of fighters should set aside funds to offer scholarships to young athletes.

  7. The reason: all of the fighters that's use to be dominate (Roy Jones Jr., Bernard Hopkins, Jermaine Taylor, etc.) losted their touch in the sport; there are very few undefeated fighters which is the reason people come to watch those matches, and as in other sports as well. Since those boxers are dwindling, the sport isn't going to be fun to watch because of pro boxers having blemishes on their records.

  8. Bro,

Pro boxing has not disappeared and isn't going any where anytime soon!!!  Boxing still has a lot of fights on PPV and HBO/Showtime.  And there are a lot of local cards out there.  I got to as many of the cards in the Philly area as I can and they are always sold out!!!

If you think boxing is dying or is a dead sport, go watch the fight from a few weeks ago between Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito.  Awesome fight and worth the PPV money, unlike the Anderson Silva 30 second waste of PPV money from the week before.
