The one who didn't refer to women as b&*^%^% and h*&^.

The one who courted you and brought flowers behind his back.

The one who took care of his family.

The one who washed all the cars on Sundays.

Is he gone, or where is he?

There are a few but not many. Well what I think happened was women and their attitudes. I think it begins in the courting days and the effects of this turn into resentment in later relationships. Example, a poor/average looking guy offers to buy a girl a drink at the bar while she stands there with her friends. He's rejected, laughed at by the bunch of them and seen as a desperate sad loser. Not only that but once in a relationship a lot of women try to wear the pants which strips them of their manhood.

I don't know if this makes sense to you but I think it's just a change in the status of genders these days. While women are gaining empowerment, men are losing their grip on what it means to be a man. In the old days women were ladies and men were gentlemen. I think there's been a change in both sexes because there's also not many ladies out there anymore. Get me?

Many are still there they have gone underground. And joined a Ghost Nation of Men who are withdrawing from Women. We love Women but hate what they have evolved into. I'm apparently one of those men because I do all of the following; so apparently there are a few around.  

I don't know why those traits are endangered.  I know that alot of young men "refer to women as b____ and h___" because of the style of music that's popular today; pop and rap music that often speak condescendingly of women.

Washing the cars on sunday became extinct with the coming of american laziness, disrespect of vehicles, and the automatic carwash.  (By disrespect of vehicles I mean back in the day, cars cost thousands of dollars and were treated like so.  If you got to drive your dad's car, that was the highlight of the week.  Now, cars cost even more, yet most teenagers expect one the day they get the lisence.)

Judging from many of these responses, they are still well and out there.  My husband is like this too, so are most of his friends.  I do not think there is a lack of them, but there is a lack of them in the media.

I really think the idea of this got lost when many women decided these were insults and she could "do it herself".  Rather than respond with a simple "thank you" for this man's generosity and hard work, she responded like a toddler.

family..once families resided on farms and owned small businesses and a family was an integral part of an extended community..now we have strangers from all corners of the globe,with different cultures,a more highly mobile population and many isolated and estranged individuals who make up a family as they go along... no long-lasting ties,

this is why divorce is so prevalent,latch-key children and

teens leaving the family unit long before they even finish an education....or hold down a job, or are prepared to take care of themselves....the concept of the family is not as well upheld as it was formerly was, for after al one facet of a family is to teach the young how to take care of themselves..

some of that is the fault of women (or rather feminism gone to far).  feminism has its pluses but also has caused us to loose out on the kind of man you described-- since now we can do it all ourselves.  yeah i can do all those things myself, but i love to have them done for me too.  

also men now are so danged feminine its unreal- getting facials, manicure, pedicures, taking forever to get ready and making sure every hair is in place--- the evolution from man to pretty boy is just troubling to me--- talk about loosing your manhood.  i'd much rather have a good ole boy that knows how to work on the car, has stained hands, and knows how to handle things in the bedroom than some pretty boy that don't know how to change oil, or doesn't know the engine from his elbow.  but thats just me.
