Whatever happened to the remake of the Titanic

Question

I heard a few years ago that some company was planning on recreating the Titanic ship and calling it "Titanic II". Im not asking whether its true or not (because I know that it is) but what happened to the plans of this venture? Does anyone know any details about it, if it is still going ahead and what not?

I'm guessing that if it is really a "go-ahead", then it is currently under construction. Stories like that are big in the media for a couple of weeks then tend to die down, and seeming that ships take years to build- no wonder why rumours have been on heitus. The "Titanic Quarter" (where the ship was built) in Belfast is releasing a signature memorial for the 100th anniversary of the sinking (apparently like no other)- my guess is another ship.
