Whatever happened to chivalry? It seems dead. Most men no longer give up their seat to a lady or an elderly person on the bus or train anymore. They just look like "your loss" and the elderly person and women are stuck standing. They won't even give up seats to a pregnant woman on the bus or train.

Whatever happened to inviting the pastor over for Sunday dinner in the black communities? The elderly always tell me how their pastors would come over for Sunday dinner.Whatever happened to nearly the whole family coming over for Sunday dinner?Whatever happened to curtsying?

My generation and the younger generation has such bad manners now.Even Judge Mathis wrote an article on how the young people just have no manners these days. They just bump people and don't say excuse me.Children talk out of term and talk back to adults now.Back in my day you would get slapped in your mouth.I'm an 80s child and in my day kids got whuppings. Now kids threaten adults with DCFS. What happened?

  1. i agree

  2. I know, I wish people had manners and were more considerate. I'll see people ordering at a restaurant and I'll never hear them say please or thank you once! It's not that hard. And I would love to hear a yes sir or no ma'am more often. It's very rare to hear this anymore. I get SO irritated when I am walking up to a door, and a guy meets me there at the same time, and he goes in first. I wonder if he was raised by wolves. Also people are VERY rude to the elderly. I always open doors for them or help them with bags or whatever. I dread to see what the world is like when I'm elderly. I was born in the 80's, most of my friends don't have any manners. I just don't understand it.

  3. You should read, "Generation Me: Why Today's Young Americans Are More Confident, Assertive, Entitled--and More Miserable Than Ever Before" by Jean Twenge. It will answer some of your questions. While it was written primarily for a North American audience, my colleagues in Israel, Scandinavia, and Germany all agree with the fact that the children born in the 70s, 80s, and 90s all display a narcissistic attitude with a huge sense of entitlement. I blame the parents. You're only as good as your parents have raised you to be.
