Whatmore in search of T2O players – Cricket News Update

Whatmore, who returned successful after his first assignment of 2012 Asia Cup, is free for the next couple of months and in the mean time, is eager to train the emerging talents in order to build a strong team for the Men In Green’s T20 assignments later
in the year.  
The 58-year-old has reserved the rights of selecting his own group of players - a clause in his contract with the PCB.  It is therefore a big opportunity for the youngsters to gain the attention of the highly experienced mentor.
 “Any player who impresses the coach will boost his chances of playing in the World Twenty20 because Whatmore will have a say in selection matters,” said a PCB official.
The tournament kicked off on March 25, featuring eight domestic teams which are divided into two groups. The teams are representing six cities of the country and further include many renowned players – the likes of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Umar-Gul-c94604, who are playing from their respective
cities.
The exciting event will last one week , with two matches being played each day. The final will be played on Sunday April 1, 2012.
