What's Arsene Wenger's take on the "Cesc to Barca" stories?

The Arsenal manager must be pretty perturbed that his captain might be making a return to Spain at the end of the season?

Indeed, but Wenger says no communications on the matter have taken place between the two clubs, and furthermore that a move away from Arsenal for Cesc would be a step down - suggesting there is a lack of competition in Spain, with only Barcelona and Real Madrid ever really in the hunt. Wenger also had a pop at the press (again) for what he called their "persistent campaign to get our best players away from England."  Blimey. And I'm an Arsenal fan.
