Mateship and that everyone at least gets a fair go. Aussies are relatively laid back about many things but that doesn't mean that we don't work hard and our not proud of what we achieve cause we are.

As for customs I would say that our place of worship(the pub) is a ritualistic one. It is a place where one can meet and greet old and new friends as well as partaking in weird tribal and mating dances while consuming cold alcoholic beverages. At times there can be territorial disputes especially over the opposite s*x if there appears to be some sort of threat. But all in all the 'Pub' is a place of welcome and frivolity.

The other great custom or ritual is the BBQ. Generally it is a male dominated arena where the male displays just how much of a man he is buy how many times he turns a snag(sausage) or a steak while cooking them until they no longer resemble the animal they once were but looked as though they were dragged from the charred remains of the last bush fire. The females at these events generally gather together and chat about each of their males inadequacies while consuming glasses of chilled chardonnay. The males obviously consume the beers that are often located in a bath tub filled with ice. The event ending when there is no alcoholic beverages left or the cops are called due to dispute similar to that which was described above.

Oh yeah and if you hadn't noticed we do like to laugh out ourselves and take the p**s out of ( to jokingly tease) again ourselves as well as others.
