  1. He was the leader of his own "family," which was somewhat of a hippie commune during the 1960s. He orchestrated the murders of several people, which his family carried out. One of those people was Sharon Tate, a popular up-and-coming actress who was also several months pregnant at the time. She was also married to Roman Polanski, who was (and still is) a well-respected director. He's become a memorable figure in part because of these incidents, but also because he's an interesting and fairly scary person. If you've ever watched a video of him or even looked at pictures of the man, he's kind of freaky.

  2. he was crazy, demented, yet oddly likeable.  he also led something of a cult of girls who dressed oddly.  he makes a mockery of the court system and just sits there and makes fun of the board every time he comes up for parole.  a very interesting guy...

  3. charles manson is a very interesting person to read about ...basically he got 5 people to kill others (exact number un known but at least 7 victims)for him (so they say..) the killings took place in the late 60s.The Tate/LaBianca murders were very famous b/c those victims were rich and famous. In the Tate murders, Sharon was an actress was killed and so was the heir to the Folger Coffee Company, Abigail Folger.. and the LaBiancas were business owners I strongly suggest you pick up Helter Skelter by Vincent Bugiliosi very good book!!! I love that book I read it 3 times

  4. Although Charles Manson is notoriously connected to the brutal slayings of actress Sharon Tate and other Hollywood residents, he was never actually found guilty of committing the murders himself. However, he is still associated with several brutal slayings including the famous ‘Tate-La Bianca’ killings that have immortalised him as a living embodiment of evil.

  5. He is most famous (infamous) for his conspiracy in the Sharon Tate and Roman Polanski murders.

Helter Skelter was a best-selling Vincent Bugliosi book and a made-for-TV account of the investigation and prosecution of Charles Manson

Charles Manson was a would-be musician and charismatic petty criminal who found his way to San Francisco when the 1960s drug culture was at its height. By the end of the decade, he and several members of his "family" settled on borrowed land outside of Los Angeles. Believing he was a modern incarnation of Jesus Christ, and figuring he could benefit from a race war in America, Manson convinced followers to go on a murderous spree in 1969, during which they killed seven people

He was found guilty of conspiracy to commit the Tate/LaBianca murders, which members of the group carried out at his instruction. Through the joint-responsibility rule of conspiracy, he was convicted of the murders themselves.

This with the links will give you a vast amout of info on Manson

  6. He's famous cause he coerced people into committing  brutal murders for him

  7. Uh I guess in summary form, Manson was quite nuts, used drugs (lsd mostly) and s*x to manipulate the women in his little hippie commune, never actually killed anyone (his girls did), they killed Sharon Tate who was a famous actress at the time (and pregnant), he also was using the killings to bring about "helter skelter" which was a basically a race war the he thought was hinted at in the Beatles song of that name.
