  1. radio methods (fm transmitters) are horible options, there is usually alot of static and in a area with lots of radio (like i am in chicago) it is often times trying to broadcast over a existing radio, so i would stay away, i have tried 3 different ones, and because of fcc regulations they all suck...

BUT there is a great solution. i used something simlisar to this (see link) and it works great, no interference and you use all your ipod controls so its easy to use. It would need to be "installed" but it is not extremely difficult, and any car audio shop could do it for around 50 bucks.

the only draw back is the ipod volume needs to be on full and it does not charge the ipod, so it drains quickly, but with a seperate charge it can last all day long and sound great...

    good luck and happy thuming..

  2. radio ipod transmitters SUCK

they give really bad sound quality and it always breaks up, especially if you're driving around tall buildings or trees. so basically everywhere... you have to keep moving the transmitter around to get the signal back and its a pain in the a**, especially while driving

go for a head unit that has ipod direct connect. they ususally go from $100 and up. if you buy one from circuit city, they'll also install it for free

i would highly reccomend getting a new head unit instead of buying something you'll use once and then find its total c**p
