Whats PETA really about?

I know what it is, but iv heard from alot of people they actully kill more animals then they save or that its all a scam.

is it legit or what?

they kill sick animals, just like any other shelter does. they kill them because of overpopulation and they dont have room for all of them.

PETA is the n**i of the vegetarian world. They are good at lying, use force a lot, and are very "persuasive". Just like Hitler...hmm...

Well, you can check how good PETA is at brainwashing, just look at proportions of the ratings, thumbs down to up, on this answer and any answer saying anything bad about PETA.

(I am talking about "People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals", by the way.)

They don't really help animals, they blow everything out of proportion, they make terrible adds out of tragedies.  Sounds like a great group to me.  Send your money to the SPCA who actually help.

Most of the negative stuff about PETA is put out by the Center for Consumer Freedom which is actually a front group for for the restaurant, alcohol and tobacco industries. Really nasty people. PETA's website is a bit extreme but the CCF is evil.

As much as I detest PETA I feel they have gotten somewhat of a bad rap about killing dogs.  I am sure that while some of the dogs were adoptable most are much better off dead.  It is just the hypocrisy of PETA in not truthfully saying so to start with.  PETA is about the money and power of a bunch of extreme loonies.
