Since the phone is dead, it really doesnt matter if its a phone or keys or a TV remote, etc. Best thing to do is think of that last time/place you remember using it. You know, the whole "retrace your steps" thing.

i lost mine and it ended up being in my friends car.

Like everyone else say, call it. Most of the time if someone finds it they will call a number on it to find the owner so give it a few days.
