Do they rent them at the marina? How much is it? Is it safe to give them a credit card deposit? etc. Any help would be great. Also, if I cant rent them right where they drop you off the ship . . do i take a taxi etc. Thanks.

  1. use the cruise line. They have many happy customers who have done the same thing you want to do week in and week out. Use their excursions desk. That way they in a way guarentee your experience. (rather than going on your own)

  2. rent one on the beach.. last year i gave them my Kiezer Health card ..told hem it was all i had ..

  3. I was there on a vacation a few years ago.  I don't know where they rent them, but I know for sure that they do.  I hope that someone can help you out.  Lover's Beach is definitely worth checking out.

As far as renting one through the ship...I have been on many cruises and have always had great luck going "on my own" and doing things through the port and not the ship.  Many times, you will find better deals and different things than what the herd of people from the ship are doing.

Forgive me for going off on a tangent...

  4. I would not book any excursions through the cruise line, however find out who they book through and then go there yourself.  This way you know it's safe since the cruise line is endorsing them but you don't pay through the teeth.  For example, my husband and I went para-sailing in Key West.  The cruise line offered the excursion at 80.00 per person, we went to the same para-sailing spot and paid 75.00 for the two of us!!! That's less than half prince.  We saw a single mom with her daughter, and she had paid through the cruise and was quite disappointed that she had paid more than double for the exact same experience.

  5. Cabo is a tender port.  That means that the ship will anchor in the harbor and you will take a tender (one of the lifeboats) to the dock.  There on the dock will be places to rent a Jet Ski.

I have been to Cabo twice on cruise ships (in 2004 and 2005) and will going back twice more (in 2008 and 2009).  Most likely I'll be renting a jet ski myself on one of those visits.

  6. I agree with the first answer, usually they will have an excursion you may be able to look at before you even get on board.  Most beach stops have some sort rentals.
