I thought the legal age of marriage was 16, but all those gypsies get there kids married at 13/14, can you really be any age? And where would those underage marriage partners get married? Thanks.

  1. I think that if you are under 18 your parents have to give consent by signing stuff.

  2. I can answer this question very honestly as I married at the age of 17, I needed consent from my parents they had to fill in a few forms saying they agreed to my marriage.  Even though it was nineteen years ago (and yes I'm still very happy and I wasn't pregnant when I got married either just madly in love)! I have kept a keen interest in this law but I will also admit that yes I was very mature for my age and my husband is four years older than me, marriage isn't a bed of roses it's not all Mills & Boon romance it's hard and it's about give and take on both sides and a lot of trust and when children come along it really tests your relationship to the hilt.

  3. It depends on where you live and that kind of thing.

  4. at the age of 16 you can get married if your parents agree to it.

At 18 you can get married if you want to without parental concent.

This is for U.K and Wales law.

  5. In the uk you can get married from the age of 16, but until you are 18 you can't get married unless you have your parents written permission. I don't know why they would be married that young, unless they were married illegaly or were from another country where it is allowed

  6. depending on where you determines the legal age...
