  1. That is a huge fish. You need no less than a 55 gallon if you want more than just the ghost knife. They get up to 24 inches when fully grown.

  2. Considering the length of these fish get to be about 20 inches...The Minimum would be 100 Gallons would be the right amount for a adult Ghost Knife Fish.

Im sure you could raise one that has not got reach adulthood in a smaller tank (50 Gallon or more), but would need to upgrade as it reached adulthood.  Ya need a cave for it and lots of cover.  I just dont see a point on sinking money in a 50 Gallon, when you would have upgrade within a year or so...to a 100 Gallon anyway.

My Aunt had a Black Ghost back in the 70s...her tank size was 125 Gallon and had a rock cave in it as well as rock background.  This fish lived for about 8 years.

    Best of Luck!

  3. You need at least a 40 gallon for an adult Black ghost. Remeber to keep only 1 adult per tank.

If you are getting a small black ghost, you can house it in a 15 gallon temporarily. black ghosts grow quickly! they can get upto 20 inches in aquaria
