Whats Wrong With my 1997 Pontiac Grand AM 4 Cylinder 4 door sedan??

the car runs great and everything but sometimes when im driving and i role to a stop on a stop sign or a red light,the car turns of like it wont accelerate at all and the battery and oil light comes on so i put it in park turn it of and start it back up and it turns on with no problem. why is this happenning

check your vacuum lines and or your mass air flow sensor
