in generell it would be the best to take these 20 marks as a historical artefact. Because you only could change them in Germany at the "Bundesbank" (means the central bank of Germany).

you wont be able to exchange the German Mark  anymore. Its all Euro now. The Banks had an exchange for a few Years (one i think)  .Just keep it as a keepsake  For comparison  20 US is worth 14.70 Euro. :{

I lived in Germany  in those days and I seem to remember $1 was worth DM1.85.

Last February I saw a sign in a German bank that said that they were still exchanging DM for Euro.
