.....well .....you ruled out my favorite.  .....#2 slot would have to be  "Cosmos" ( cosmopolitons)...of course the "strenghth" can be altered to suit......w/o making them taste bad....unlike some drinks where the extra alcohol ruins the taste......at least on the first   three or four.....lol.......the cranberry is light in  acidity (unlike OJ and grapefruit)....helping out later.......it's also good for your urinary tract and kidneys.......lots of flavinoids , vitamin c .....blah , blah , blah.........sugarless is better  for you when you're drinlking (as your blood sugar is going to spike anyway)....but doesn't taste quite as good.....a good brand is essential.........these won't leave you feeling so "trashed" the next day like drinks with soft drinks involved.........the only REAL consideration is for men.......they certainly would be ill advised to saunter into the nearest "biker bar" and loudly order a "Cosmopoliton" from the bartender........lol...........there are some excellent variations that are not that far removed from Long Beaches but taste quite different....I know you wanted some other great strong drinks ( but not Mai Tais......or foo foo drinks)......but Long Islands , Long Beaches and eventually "Cosmos" were MY drink of choice for years.....and I'd done the whiskey , beer , scotch , grain....blah . blah ...blah stages........here's a site with some great drinks......that won't hurt you the next day......http://www.drinksmixer.com/cat/55/  .......of course TASTE & DRINK SELECTION is PURELY subjective.......but to quote W.C......." ......everybody's gotta beleive in somethin........and I believe .......I'll have another drink....."

Strawberry Margarita Recipe

Ingredients:

2 oz Tequila

1 oz Triple Sec

1 oz strawberry Liqueur

4 oz lemon or lime juice

1/2 cup strawberries

a fresh strawberry or a lime

Blend with ice and serve in a cocktail glass.
