cuba libre on 2nd and Market, they clear the floor at night for salsa dancing, they have great food

If you like home-style Italian food, Maggiano's on Filbert St. across from the Reading Terminal Market is a great place. The portions are HUGE!  It is worth the price to go there. It has a great bar and the restaurant is like an old-style Italian place with red and white table clothes.  The staff is very attentive.

Try one of the Starr restaurants- they are all unique, staples in Philly with cool, romantic atmospheres and great food. Buddakan an Pod are favorites (links below). The Manyunk Brewery is fun if you want to drink beer and sit on a nice outdoor patio, an if you are looking for real fun, there is always Dave and Busters. Nice places like the Capital Grille or McCormick and Schmidt's are always good. Have fun!
