Whats a good, cheap bicycle I should get?

I'm looking to get a new bike but this time not from walmart. I want a pretty decent bike to ride to the store and to some friends houses. I am 14 and I want a fairly cheap bike for $300 or less. All I'm really looking for is good brakes, a comfortable seat and multiple gears. What kind of bike should I get? Where can I get it?

  1. Used bikes are the way to go.

I got my Trek hybrid "slightly used" from my LBS, for about $220 (australian $), and it is still very reliable 3 years later.

Just ask around your nearest bike shops & you might find a really good bargain.

I'd go with a hybrid/mountain bike style bike because for that kind of money you should be able to get something quite decent in that style.

And any decent bike shop would have given the bike a bit of maintence if needed & would offer some type of warranty, which is good to have.

  2. You can buy it for cheap from

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/search?ie=UTF8&...

    Hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  3. you said two words that don't mix good and cheap

  4. Go to bike shops and look at used bikes. You will get a lot more bike for the money.
