  1. To the best of my knowledge, the only 32" plasma is Vizio, and it is cheap, third tier, disposable junk. Stay away!!! Most plasma displays start at 42". Dollar for dollar, the very best plasma display now sold is the Panasonic Viera, which starts with a 37" 720p.

In 32" LCD, the two top brands, for BOTH performance and reliability, are Panasonic Viera and Sony Bravia. A little less expensive is the Toshiba Regza followed by, perhaps, Sharp Aquos and Samsung. Stick to these brands. In 32", 720p/1080i is fine. You don't need 1080p. In a screen size under about 50" you can't really see the difference.

  2. LG is a great brand, and absolutely go with an LCD. Plasmas only have a 5 yr. lifespan. For the money you spend on plasma, it's not worth it. We have 3 LCDs in our home and they are great. My husband and my son play videogames on them and there is no burn-in.
