  1. 1) Check out photos of women or girls with your skin tone. This will give you an idea of what may look good.

    2) Go to a makeup counter at the mall or a department store. They will be able to help you. They will usually tell you what type of skin you have and what produts to use. You don't have to buy all their expensive stuff but you can get some really helpful advice and then you'll know what to buy and can get it in a cheaper brand.

    3) Try a drugstore. Just be sure to ask about their return policy. Save your receipts. If you hate it, take it back and exchange the item. If they give you a hassle tell them it made you break out or think of a convincing story.

    4) Get a good makeup remover. I like Ponds or Oil of Olay wipes. Set aside a day to practice. Get a variety of stuff and do this in a place with good lighting, natural lighting if you can. Just do your makeup over and over. Try different looks and have someone take pictures of each look. Just keep putting on makeup and taking it off until it looks right.

    5) Getting it right takes time. When I was 15, I was clumsy with the eyeliner and mascara and wasn't very good with makeup. I kept on practicing and reading and asking people and over time I got better and better! Ever notice how a lot of teens have bad makeup and older ladies (20 and older) usually do it better? It just takes time and patience to learn. This is just a fact of being a woman. Your style and beauty regimen gets better over time! I sometimes look at old pics and go 'uggghhh' what was I thinking? My mom also sent me to a makeup class, this helped a lot. Many City Colleges offer makeup or modeling classes for teens and adults.

    6) Have an open mind and also be open to constructive criticism and honest opinions. Ask people who's opinions are valid (um, like not your aunt with the jacked up makeup and drawn on eyebrows!) and be prepared for an honest answer.

    7) Go lighter at first. Use a brush to apply eyeshadow. Wear different makeup with different outfits and see what looks best with what.

    8) As far as brands I like personally...Low end= Cover Girl, Revlon, Mabellyne, High end= MAC, Clinique, Chanel. I'm not fond of Wet&Wild, their stuff is cheap and made me break out before so I just use the nail stuff now. The key is just try different stuff and see what works for you!

It may take some time, patience, research and practice but if you are willing to put in the effort you can get a great look for a good price. Best of luck!

  2. try some barry m eyeliner, this is much softer and easier to blend so will look neater even if you're no pro!

only apply eyeliner to the outer bottom and upper lids, not in the inner part as this sometimes looks trashy.

curl your lashes before applying mascara, and use a dark blue eyeshadow for instant glam.

use concealor to hide away any blemishes and dust some bronzer over your cheeks, chin, nose and forehead to give your face some life and dimention.

    good luck

  3. I would go to a sephora or ulta near you and ask for a free makeover they will do something that looks good on your face

  4. Keep it natural.

Lip gloss, and light eye liner to compliment ur eyes and eye colour. Uhhhh nothing else really u dont want to look like yamp (young tramp) or a wanna-be. Guys also like the natural look way better.

Just wear that and a warm confident smile and u'll be fine.

Have fun, and remember, these are ur last four years of school. Make it happen!

  5. Just don't go black with your eyemakeup (unless you have dark skin.)  Browns are more suttle.  I suggest dark brown mascara, reggae brown eyeliner, and a pale eyeshadow.  Also, get a light brown eyeshadow to highlight your brow bones a little.  If I'm right, you're wanting to enhance your beauty not look like an 8yr old playing dress up.  Remember: natural colors.

  6. At your age I would try various combinations and colors and styles of makeup.  Try to keep a few notes.  Also vary the intensity  of makeup and color to see how your appearance changes.

The amount or intensity of make up that you want to use is affected by lighting (types of indoor lighting) and or by natural daylight.

To know what is right you ought to try your "makeup look" under these various conditions to see what you like.

Then you should try differest colors of clothing with all your makeup combinations.  You will be surprised how some shades of makeup and colors of clothing just do not seen to go together very happily. Keep notes.

Last but not least get opinions including your mother's or whomever takes care of your daily living needs.

Finally it is you who has to make some decisions.  They can always be changed later.

You also may want to keep a peice of paper with the various reactions of friends and of people who see you shopping or studying or whatever activity you can think of.

All this isnt as difficult as it may seem so give it a go.  I think that you may be very happy and more confident of yourself if you do.

Enjoy and be deligent .  The rewards are great.  Good Luck!

  7. ok so you only use mascara? maybe you could wear some clear mascara with some purple eyeliner and some eyeshadow oh and dont forget your lipgloss :}

  8. heres a really good video on how to apply eyeliner :)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cegCXLln8...

just eyeliner and mascara, some eyeshadow too but not crazy bright colors.

  9. Blush.. make shure its not to red tho.. jussst enough

Lip glossss.. make shure its poppin !

Mascara - gotta have them lashes and a curler to make em hot

A little eye shadow - go for a more natural look tho so like browns beiges an gold colors...

Add all this together.. and you got it girl!

  10. It usually depends on the person.  Some people can look perfectly fine and be fine wearing their own natural self.  Others might feel they need concealer, foundation, lipstick, eyeshadow, mascara, the works.

You can tell yourself how much you need.  If you think that wearing a particular amount might make you look to overdone, then you should lessen it.  If you think that adding a particular amount might be better, try it out.  Everyone has their own signature look of makeup.

Personally, all I need is a bit of dark eyeshadow, since I have pretty bright eyes and I want to enhance them.

  11. This all depends on the coverage amount you want..everyone is different.  For grade nine i would suggest you use a loose powder on your face and if your having a couple pimples that day apply some concealer over the loose powder...

clinique is a great brand for the younger group of kids

and its great for sensitive skin to prevent breakouts

they carry loose powder and concealer just ask someone working at the makeup counter at your local department store, cosmetic market, sephora or online.

then i would apply a nice neutral shade of blush clinique makes lovely colors

for your eyes dont go to dark your young and beautiful naturally

    try some glittery fun colors

a light brown, light plums, or just some loose glitter

    a nice coat of mascara-black-

and then a nice sparkly pink lip gloss or tinted chapstick

  12. concealer, bronzer, mascera (and curler) and tinted lip gloss is perfect

  13. im in ninth grade too..

    macys makeup counter
