Whats a good and free photoediting place to put pictures side by side?

Question

I was wondering if there were a free site that I could use to take 2 pictures and make then into one like a side by side picture.

So when you upload it its only one pic....sorry I really suck at explaining it..

I use paint.net  I got it off of download.com  I love it....for a free program anyway! lol

You can do that on Paint. LOL

but download GIMP. it's just like photoshop and it's free.

after you check it out,click on FREE DOWNLOAD on the top toolbar on that page..and then click on the first blue link that says FREE DOWNLOAD.a little screen will pop up and click SAVE.

when you have finished downloading,open up Photoscape and it will have a list of different tabs..such as viewer,editor,batch editor,page,combine,anigif,print,splitte... to combine 2 pictures [or more] click on the PAGE tab..on the left side they will have all your pictures that are stored on your computer,and the right side will have different kinds of pages..click on the page you like[and since you just want to combine 2 pictures,scroll down,its towards the bottom] then drag the pictures you want onto the page you choose.you can move the pictures around into the postions you want by sliding the pictures left to right..and there you go. you can also change the size of the margin,background color,and frame.
